VON ITALY 2007 EXTENDS ITS POSITION AS THE LEADING
IP COMMUNICATIONS EVENT IN ITALY
Co-located Event with Broadband Business Forum 2007, Set to Take Place in Rome on September 26th and 27th
VON Italy will be present at DIGITRONICS @ booth B206.
Milan, March 31, 2007 – The second annual VON Italy (www.vonitaly.com), will once again play a key role in the worldwide tour of VON - the leading global event series dedicated to IP Communications produced by Pulvermedia (www.pulvemedia.com) and Wireless (www.gowireless.it). The Rome event, set for September 26-27, 2007, already features 21 sponsors and exhibitors, and many other sector players are in the process of booking their space – helping to further confirm VON Italy as the premier meeting point for the growing Italian and Mediterranean VoIP, Video and IP-based communication industry.
Current sponsoring companies include: the German AVM and the Finnish Nokia (Platinum Sponsors); Alcatel-Lucent, Allnet Italia; Altesys; Icona, Sintel; Reitek and Zyxel Communications (Gold Sponsors); and a number of exhibitors coming both from the local market: (including Aastra Italia; Alceo-Necsy; Ampercom; Aspidcom; IPKom; and Wildix) and from elsewhere: (Adept Telecom from France; Adax Europe; XConnect from the UK; Dialogic from the USA and Sangoma from Canada). After the successful 2006 debut, with 17 Sponsors, 57 Exhibitors and more than 2,000 visitors, VON Italy 2007 is poised to exceed the success of its initial showing.
Divided into an exhibiting area and a conference area for rich, educational sessions, VON Italy 2007 will be co-located with the third edition of Broadband Business Forum (www.bbf2007.com) - the unique event in Italy which brings politicians, institutions and market operators under one roof to discuss the evolution of broadband, WLAN, WiMax, municipal wireless and digital divide. VON and BBF will consolidate the positive synergies, themes, and business opportunities for exhibiting companies and visitors that characterized last year’s show.
Highlights for the 2007 event include a new venue in Rome - at the Rome Marriott Park Hotel, which is the largest Convention Center in Europe, and a five-star hotel. Opened just a few months ago, this venue offers top-level services and a wider expo area that will accommodate the predictably increasing number of Sponsors and Exhibitors.
This year, topics include: Fixed/Mobile Convergence (Mobile VoIP, Quad and Quintuple Play, MVNO); VoIP for Enterprises and Public Administrations; VoIP Security (the latter co-organized with CLUSIT, one of the most relevant Italian associations for security in ICT); Open Source VoIP; and VoIP regulation. Additional conference tracks will also focus on: Trade; VoIP for Consumers; and IP Television - the new frontier of IP Communications. As in the past, VON Italy will benefit from established cooperation agreements with leading associations, institutions, and with media partners that will support the event by providing content and promoting the show.
“The great debut of VON Italy in 2006 allowed us to organize a wider, more prestigious and more international second edition, in terms of represented companies and debated content,” said Gianluigi Ferri, founder of Wireless. “The initial reaction we’re receiving from Sponsors and Exhibitors makes us feel confident that VON Italy 2007 will significantly exceed last year’s success.”
“Our partnership with Wireless has enabled the IP Communications community in Italy to have an event to meet, network and debate the changes and disruptions taking place in the industry,” added Jeff Pulver, founder of Pulvermedia and international guru of VoIP. “We’re also pleased to do the same with the telematics community, by launching the Telemobility Forum in November - where we will help organize the leading tradeshow on telematics and satellite navigation in Europe.”
